Hey, isn't this a bad idea? i can just imagine teens popping these pills like tylenol. i can say this because i once was a scared girl, and i can see myself doing somthing like this. getting a perscription makes it feel like a big deal, which taking this pill is, in my opinion. i took it a few times is college and it messed me up physically and emotionally for at least a little while.
it forces you to start your period. how many times can you do this before it becomes dangerous? and there would be no regulation?
i guess i just don't know that much about the drug, excluding my own experience, and i'm inviting your thoughts.
Actually, L-Jo, approving Plan B for over the counter use is a very good idea as it will help to prevent abortions, which we all would like to end. Unfortunately, the demand for abortions will never go away, and anything we can do to prevent them has to be a good thing. As a once-scared girl, I think you know that having the option available to you can be a huge relief. Taking any sort of medication, including Plan B, is an important decision, just like the decision to have sex is. Since Plan B is more effective the sooner you take it, making it available over the counter will improve its effectiveness. Plan B has already been FDA approved (for prescription only) so its safety has been guaranteed by our very own givernment. Essentially, it is a particular type of hormone that causes a woman to shed her uterine lining (so your symptoms were correct) and hopefully prevent a pregnancy. Plan B is not the "abortion pill."
